A couple of things to mention
Let’s have a glance at these two famous brands. What’s their mission? Vision? What sets them apart?
WinkBeds was founded in 2015.
Its mattresses are hand-made by skilled mattress-makers in Wisconsin, Virginia, or Arizona. Also, they use the highest quality, American-sourced materials.
They say for themselves they are in the wellness industry, not mattress.
WinkBeds is a current champion in the bed-in-a-box category.
Saatva was founded in 2010. The idea was to create a different kind of mattress company.
So they replaced the confusing and exhausting mattress in-store experience with 24/7 customer service and a no-pressure home trial.
Consumers responded, and today Saatva is the leading luxury mattress brand.

WinkBeds Review
WinkBeds offers a hybrid model that combines a plush pillow top with tons of coils making it super bouncy yet supportive.
Combining these two the least you can expect is an unforgettable sleeping experience.

It’s also made with CertiPUR-US® Certified foams, which means it’s free of harmful chemicals and heavy metals.
The WinkBed is offered in a Softer, Luxury Firm, Firmer, and Plus model.
Who should get the WinkBed mattress?
- Hot sleepers.
The WinkBed pillow top is made of gel-infused foam. While regular foam overheats easily, gel-infused foam keeps things cool.
If you’re a hot sleeper, you don’t have to worry about overheating during hot summer nights.
- Traditional innerspring mattress lovers and persons who suffer from back pain.
- Heavier folks.
On the other hand, the WinkBed isn’t such a great choice for budget shoppers. It’s a bit more expensive compared to the Saatva.
However, you can find the WinkBeds mattresses often on sale, and considering their durability and a lifetime warranty, it’s definitely a good deal.
How does the WinkBed feel?

Speaking of its firmness, the average consumer rating is 7 out of 10. Medium-firm is 6.5 therefore it’s just a bit firmer than medium firm.
When you lay on the WinkBed, you’ve got that sinking feeling thanks to Tencel cover, and then comes firm support.
Back sleepers, as well as combination sleepers, would rate this one as perfect!
However, strict side sleepers wouldn’t appreciate its firmness that much. If you’re a strict side sleeper you might give it a shot with the Softer model, since Luxury Firm and Firm are quite firm.
PROS
- Advanced cooler technology
- Lifetime warranty
- Great choice for heavy people
- Great choice for people with back pain
- Great choice for combined sleepers
- Four firmness levels
CONS
- Not for those on a budget
- Not a great choice for strict side sleepers
Saatva Review
The Saatva mattresses are quite popular, if not the most popular innerspring mattresses on the market. Just like WinkBeds, they’re built with gentle memory foam and a coil-on-coil system.
Memory foam and the coil-on-coil system ensure a hotel-like sleeping experience… at home.
The Saatva mattresses come in three different firmness options: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm.

Besides three firmness options, the Saatva comes in two different height options, as well – 11.5-inch and 14.5-inch
Who should get the Saatva mattress?
- Stomach sleepers.
The Saatva Luxury Firm mattress is great for stomach sleepers because its firm support keeps hips and shoulders aligned and that’s exactly what stomach sleepers are looking for.
- Back and combination sleepers.
Just like the WinkBed, the Saatva is great for back and combination sleepers due to its bouncy mattress. On the other side, the coil system allows moving around easily.
- Budget shoppers.
The Saatva is a bit less expensive than the WinkBed, making it a better option for those shopping on a budget.

Just like the WinkBed, the Saatva is not a great option for side sleepers, however, the Softer model might do the trick.
Moreover, the Saatva is quite bouncy and motion transfer is greater than on the WinkBed, therefore some couples might find it disturbing if their partner is restless.
PROS
- Two different height options
- 180-night trial period
- Great choice for stomach sleepers
- Great choice for combined sleepers
- Great choice for budget shoppers
- Three firmness level options
- Two height options
CONS
- Not a great choice for heavy sleepers
- Not a great choice for strict side sleepers
- Couples might find it too bouncy
WinkBeds vs Saatva: Head-to-Head Comparison
Now that we’ve reviewed each brand in detail, let’s compare them head to head to help you choose the mattress that perfectly suits your needs.
Main Similarities:
As you’ve noticed, the Saatva and the WinkBed are quite similar as I mentioned at the beginning of the article.
They both use a coil system that makes them bouncy yet they offer firm support. This system makes them an excellent choice for combination sleepers as well as the ones with back pain.
I’d like to add here that WinkBed has done a slightly better job with motion transfer therefore couples can have a good night’s sleep even if their partner is restless.
They both come in multiple firmness levels, which I find great! Even side sleepers can be satisfied with the softer option both brands offer.
Both brands have their luxury models – the Saatva Classic Luxury Firm and the WinkBed Luxury Firm and they both fall into a similar price range, but the Saatva is a bit less expensive than the WinkBed.
Main Differences:
The most obvious difference is certainly the way they’re delivered. The WinkBed is a bed-in-a-box mattress that is shipped to the door.
The Saatva, on the other hand, is a traditional uncompressed mattress delivered to your home.
Next, the coil system. The WinkBed is equipped with pocketed coils and edge-support coils while the Saatva has two different types of pocketed coils.
Last, the Saatva comes in two different heights, 11.5″ and 14.5″, while the WinkBed comes in only one.
Mattress Construction – WinkBeds vs Saatva
Let’s dive in deeper to see what’s inside of each mattress.

Cover – The WinkBed cover is made of eco-friendly Tencel that makes the mattress light and breathable. Also, Tencel fabric secures cooling for the top of the WinkBed.
The Saatva’s cover is breathable and antimicrobial thanks to organic cotton.
If you ask me, I’d say the WinkBed has a slightly better cover only because of the Tencel fiber material.
Comfort layer – The Saatva’s organic cotton cover is filled with foam creating a Euro pillow top. Right below, there is a layer of memory foam designed to provide lumbar support and more pressure relief.
The WinkBed is built similarly. However, the pillow top is created with Hypersoft gel-infused foam. While regular foam overheats sometimes, gel-infused foam keeps things cool.
The WinkBed comfort layer is smooth and luxurious to the touch, and its pillow is a bit plushier than the Saatva’s.
By adding cooling foam, we’ve got a clear winner in this category – the WinkBed.

Support layers – The WinkBed has an incredible 7-zone support system that provides support and pressure relief at different body points.
The Saatva has actually two layers combined – the first one consists of pocketed coils that provide airflow and support. Below there’s a memory foam layer in the center.
These two combined provide support and relief to the lower back.
Needles to say, this advanced zone system benefits people who suffer from lower back pain.
That’s why I’ll give the points to the Saatva here.
The Verdict
Okay, let’s do a recap.
The WinkBed has only a 120-night trial compared to the 180-night trial the Saatva offers.
The WinkBed is also more expensive and they come in only one height option.
On the other hand, the Saatva has 3 firmness options available compared to the 4 firmness levels the WinkBed offers.
Also, the Saatva might be too bouncy for couples, while the WinkBed performed outstandingly on the Motion Transfer test.
They are both firm mattresses meaning they’re not a great option for side sleepers.
The WinkBed is definitely a better option for heavy sleepers with its Plus firmness option.
The Saatva scooped the points when it comes to supporting layers, but the WinkBeds won in the cover and comfort layer category.
This is really a tough one.
Let me put it this way: if you’re not shopping on a budget, go for the WinkBed but if you’re on the budget, you won’t be disappointed with the Saatva.
What’s the number one thing you consider when buying a mattress?
