We can start off by saying that, in terms of how well your teeth get cleaned, there are no conventional brushes that are on par with electric ones. Electric toothbrushes started off quite a long time ago, to help those which struggled with motion. Fun fact, they didn’t have batteries, and were instead plugged into a wall outlet. Not a good idea.

The point is that they were designed to be as effective as possible. Their strokes are measured in RPM, and there is no chance you’re hitting that number with a conventional brush. Again, the biggest gain is that you get more strokes on average with using an electric toothbrush.

There is no getting around it. Quip is the most cost-effective option from the list. Not only do their actual toothbrush cost $25, but their subscription is an inexpensive $5. You get a replacement brush head every three months, and there aren’t many options to tweak the frequency.

Still, you get a triple-A battery included with the brush head, which is a plus, since that “no charger and no wires” thing is more or less saying that there isn’t a rechargeable battery for your toothbrush.

But this way, you’re set for both batteries and brush head. Props to Quip.

Goby

When it comes to Goby, it is the better option if you want to change brush head more regularly.

The downside with Quip is the fact that you cannot tweak the subscription frequency, but with Goby, you can either go every month, every two months, or every three months. It comes in at $6 per brush head, which is reasonable, and relatively inexpensive.

For many, the fact that you can get a replacement brush head every month is a plus.

Sonicare

Sonicare doesn’t have a subscribe option, but you can do one-time purchases for your brush replacement heads. Three brush heads will set you back $29.99, which means that one costs about $10, more or less.

That comes in a whopping $4 difference to Goby, and it is quite expensive. Still, whatever you miss on with Sonicare, you make up with performance. But the price should be considered either way.

We consider Quip to be the best price to performance. It sits comfortable in the middle for RPM, and based on what you would find in the store, as far as electric toothbrushes are concerned, it has much more power on average.

The only thing which is a downside is the fact that it doesn’t have a rechargeable battery. Quip advertises that by saying that you don’t need chargers or cables, and you have battery for three months. That’s all well and good, but that’s a downside in my book. They made up for that with the fact that you get a triple-A battery with your subscription, which completely eradicates the issue.

Looking at the price, it seems unusual how they’ve managed to pull of such a great deal with those features. Maybe that’s the reason why it is among the leaders for electric toothbrushes.

The design is slick and futuristic, and they’ve managed to pull off a great design in the price. There are smart toothbrushes also, which you can pair up with the Quip app, and get all sorts of data, and rewards.

Goby is the convenient option.

The fact that one can tweak the subscription to either one through three months is a big plus. There are many people out there that prefer to change their brush head, or toothbrush more frequently than three months, even though three months is the most accepted period.

We would have loved to see more performance in the RPM department from Goby, since it is pricier than Quip, but still less powerful. However, in all honesty, that much RPM difference doesn’t make a drastic difference, and this toothbrush is still better than some on the market, particularly non-electric toothbrushes.

Like Quip, Goby features a minimalistic and futuristic design. Because of the great design, we often found that people are interested about the toothbrush whenever they spot it in the bathroom. And the same goes for Quip’s toothbrush.

The brush head refills cost more than Quip, but you at least have the option to tweak whenever you want to get them from your subscription. That is the price difference. You get more convenience.

Now, if performance is of utmost importance to you, and you don’t mind spending the extra few dollars, then Sonicare might be the best choice from all three. It is the no-compromise option, and compared to other electric toothbrushes, it is one of the most powerful on the market.

One downside is the fact that there is no subscription option. Sure, you can get your brush head replacements any time it is convenient for you, but that way, you always have to worry and do the extra work whenever you need brush heads. For putting your dental hygiene supplies on auto-pilot, the other two make much more sense.

However, these are things which can be overlooked since the two main keywords that you should focus on with the Sonicare brush are: Performance and quality. There is simply no contender better at those things than Sonicare. After all, it is made by Phillips.

There is also a smart app that works similarly to Quip, where you can set daily goals, see dental data, and much more.

This brush is unbelievable in what it offers, but it lacks a bit of flair with its design. Sure, it is futuristic and all that, but it isn’t as slick and as special as the designs from Quip and Goby.

Circle brushes aren’t for me, but the positive reviews for this type of brush are hard to ignore. Goby customers are saying that they much prefer the round design compared to other regular brushes on the market.

Philips Sonicare 2 and Quip have the more accepted brush design, but between the two, Sonicare seems a lot better. The brush feels better made, and even though they’re both soft bristle brushes, the difference is easy to spot.

In any case, that is not to say that Quip doesn’t have what is takes. On the contrary, it can be easily seen that Quip have put a lot of thought into the design of their brush. Same goes for the other two.

But if we had to rank them, Sonicare would come on top, and then the other two. From Quip and Goby, it comes down to what type of a brush you’re more used to using. Whether it is a round brush, or a rectangle one.

Still, all of them are sufficient, and much better than some of the ones you might find at the local store.

When it comes to these two, the perfect option seems Goby if you want to change out your brushes frequently. As for Quip, it is for those that change their brushes every three months, and need the extra bit of performance.

Between Quip & Sonicare, Which One to Get?

As we have seen extensively in this article, these two are radically different in terms of price to performance.

Sonicare is the no compromise option. The toothbrush has 31,000 RPM, more than double from Quip. Plus, it has a rechargeable battery, that needs to be charged every two weeks, which is still reasonable.

Both have the options to connect to a smartphone, so both take points for that. In all honesty, it is true about how much performance you get with Sonicare. In terms of that, this electric toothbrush is unparalleled on the market.

However, if you’re looking to switch out from your regular toothbrush to an electric one, on a budget, then Quip is perfect. Their prices are affordable, and the fact that you can get a regular brush head refill and a battery seems very convenient. Plus, the difference from a non-electric brush to this is enormous.

Again, as for Sonicare, it is for those that don’t want to make any compromises on their dental hygiene supplies, no matter the price. Truly, one of the best toothbrushes out there. Keep in mind also, that Philips has been making efforts on introducing a subscription system for the Sonicare toothbrush as well.

Goby VS Sonicare: Electric Toothbrush

It is the same case with Sonicare when it is against Goby. There is just so much lack of performance with Goby. Although, it is much more affordable, you do need to pay the extra to get the performance.

But still, one thing that Goby has going for it, and something we mentioned extensively is the fact that it has a lot of subscription options. Goby has only 9,000 RPM – strokes per minute, but it is relatively perfect for new comers to the electric toothbrush trend. Particularly, people that are used to non-electric brushes.

So, if you want the convenient and budget option, Goby will do just fine for many people out there. Nevertheless, if you’re looking for the best of the best, and don’t mind spending a bit of extra, then Sonicare is a great electric toothbrush.

For now, Sonicare remains one of the best toothbrushes on the market.

In the end, all three toothbrushes have proven to be effective at what they do. At least much more effective than the conventional ones you would find at the store.

For the most well-known electric toothbrush in this review, the Sonicare, it is one of the best electric toothbrushes that one could get at the moment. It offers unbelievable performance, and even though it is quite expensive, it makes no compromises, practically speaking.

Nonetheless, if you’re one to change brushes frequently, then you need something to be convenient. The most convenient here is Goby, as you can get your brush refills every one, two, or three months. Plus, it is sufficient in terms of how well it will clean your teeth.

As for Quip, it is impressive. Impressive because they’ve pulled off a lot of performance, for such a low price. It is the budget option, and if you can get over the fact that there is only a refill every three months, it is the best budget toothbrush, in terms of how many bells and whistles you get.
