The Meridian and Manscaped are names which come up regularly to those that are looking for the most state-of-the-art grooming solutions. But most of the time, people have trouble choosing between them, or choosing them, over conventional brands.
Truth is, most people don’t expect them to work as well as they do. I’m mostly talking about the trimmers, as well as the whole package altogether. This is mostly due to their advertising, which ultimately led them to be plastered everywhere, which, to everyone, felt very pushy.
But as we saw, that isn’t the case for both Meridian, nor Manscaped. But ultimately, out of the two, there might be a more superior option over the other.

Conventional Trimmers & Brands VS Meridian & Manscaped?
I touched on it before, for some it is very tough to see the point of Meridian or Manscaped, when they can get out, and get a trimmer package from a “conventional” brand, at a third of the price.
But there is a reason why Meridian and Manscaped are at a higher price. Both have unique technologies, they both have a certain feel on the trimmers, and overall, they feel better built than some alternatives on the market.
I’m all for not overpaying for trimmers, but in this case, I think Meridian and Manscaped are sufficiently priced, for the performance or convenience you might be getting.
Furthermore, in terms of overall feel, build quality, ease-of-use, and longevity, I believe these two are better than 90% of their competition at the same price point.
Differences Between Manscaped & Meridian
In everyday use, they do feel relatively different. But in terms of specs and everything, they don’t really vary that much. Overall, I prefer Meridian over Manscaped, as you’ll see why.
Let’s compare these two side by side and see what they offer:
|Meridian VS Manscaped: Grooming|
|Design||Excellent 5/5||Adequate 3/5|
|Build Quality & Craftsmanship||Very good 5/5||Good 4/5|
|Battery Life||Good 4/5||Not Good (Depletes over time) 2/5|
|Value||Great Value 5/5||Good 4/5|
|Return Policy||30-day return policy on one-time purchase products.||30-day return policy.|
|Warranty||1-year warranty.||90-day warranty.|

Before we go into what makes each brand tick, individually, it is fair to mention something about Meridian. Due to its compact design, everything from battery life to build quality and longevity is improved.
This is due to the fact that it feels much more compact and stronger over Manscaped sharp, but flimsy design. It’s very impressive, and it has a 1-year warranty as well.
Meridian is cool, I’ll just say that straight out of the gate. The whole experience feels much more modern, with a subscription option as well. The added benefit of getting new blades or sprays, is not bad.
I’ve always found an issue with finding replacement blades for some of my other old trimmers, but with Meridian that is not the case due to its subscription service.
I really can’t find something negative to say about Meridian. After reviewing some customer reviews, it seems apparent that the only issue most people have is the unusual practices for marketing that Meridian has.
Some users have reported that Meridian is known to spam after purchases, or after communicating with the company, even after specifically unsubscribing.
But as far as quality, battery life, and overall feel of the Meridian trimmer, most customers praise those things. Of course, there are some negative reviews, which suggest that it isn’t really as good as it is advertised to be. Specifically, for gentle areas.
But it is fair to mention that only a small percentage of customers have noted these issues.
With that said, let’s go over the pros and cons of using Meridian:
- Very compact design
- Battery life doesn’t deplete
- Subscription available
- Excellent build quality
- Great value
- Deodorant, toners, gels, and other similar products are not as good as Manscaped
Now, if you’re a fan of smaller or thinner trimmers, Manscaped is much better in that sense. But it does come with a couple of downsides: One being the fact that quite a number of customers have reported overheating. When this happens, you’ll have to wait for it to cool down a bit. Highly inconvenient for mornings.
But it is true that from what I’ve gathered they have resolved this issue in the latest models of the trimmer. But all of the things which bummed me out using their previous trimmer, remained the same.
What I’m talking about is the design, and how it negatively impacts the build quality and overall feel. Meridian does this exceptionally good, while Manscaped, I’m not so sure.
In addition, I found the pricing very interesting. Basically, it is more than Meridian. I’m struggling to find a reason why, if I’m honest. But it is true that Manscaped is more widespread and more well-known in the grooming business, so, I’m suggesting it has to do with getting a name brand.
In an ideal world, I would be lying if I said that I didn’t like Manscaped, it’s good. But the overall value for it isn’t as good as Meridian, or some other competitors as well.
However, for those that like thinner trimmers, this is better. Here are all of the pros and cons for Manscaped:
- Thin and small design
- Good cutting technology
- Better formulations
- Very good subscription packages
- Not a great value
- Not as compact or sturdy
The Maintenance Package
The Maintenance Package is the best overall package. It comes in at a reasonable price, but it contains everything you would need from a grooming kit. The Maintenance Package contains:
- X2 Backup Blades
- Ball Spray
Purchasing with the subscription will ensure that you get replacement blades and spray every three months. All things considered though, I’ll probably go for the bigger package, the Classic Maintenance Package which has a 90-second, 3-step skincare routine, a trimmer, and the spray.
The Perfect Package 4.0
Manscaped doesn’t really say what their best-sellers are, but we imagine it would be the Perfect Package 4.0, as it is the one which is in the middle in terms of pricing, and goodies. Also, most of the reviews we went through were primarily by customers who have gotten this package.
Anyways, it is pretty impressive coming with the so-called Lawn Mower trimmer, an anti-chafing ball deodorant, ball toner, and disposable shaving mats. Oh, and also, you’ll get an extra pair of underwear as well. All that is very impressive, but it is also more expensive than Meridian.
If you get the subscription, you’ll get a replacement blade every three months, and a bonus product based on your choice.
And if you get the subscription, you’ll get a discount on the package as well.
It pretty clear up until now, why I prefer Meridian over Manscaped. But for the purpose of keeping everything neat and tidy, we also put them head-to-head, in a mini matchup in order to see why one would make more sense over the other.
Meridian VS Manscaped – Which Is Better?
Look, the whole Manscaped experience is really good. Their formulations are great, but the fact of the matter is, their trimmers don’t live up to any expectations.
It’s not like it won’t get the job done, it will, and it will probably do a good job, but why settle for something more expensive, which feels less compact and less sturdy, when there is something at a much better price?
This in turn is I think, the biggest issue between the two. We won’t get no where if we compared their trimmers, but their overall packages and value? Well, that’s different.
Meridian has a much better value than Manscaped, and in some cases the trimmers work better as well. Unfortunate.
The Verdict: Which Is The Best Trimmer & Grooming Subscription?
We concluded that both of these are better than any of your local store brands, which claim “grooming excellence”. Their advertising might be pushy sometimes, but it would have been worse if they had nothing to show for it.
But Meridian and Manscaped do have a lot to show for it. Whether you like thinner trimmers or looking for the best value trimmer, than these brands have you covered.
Like I said before, I recommend the Meridian trimmer, but the Manscaped – Lawn Mower 4.0 will work for most people as well. However, it is fair to mention that it comes at a higher price, and it feels less well-made.
As for Meridian it gets points all across the board. It has a number of packages, each suited for different needs. The trimmer is fantastic, although, we would love to see more formulations like Manscaped has. Overall though, Meridian is of great value.
What is great with these two options is the fact that customers are getting long-term support, i.e. replacement parts. In other words, replacement blades. Nowadays, it is hard to locate replacement blades for some trimmers.
