They brought the made-to-measure experience direct to customers at affordable prices. This way Indochino created a premium alternative to off-the-rack clothing.

Thanks to this approach, Indochino is a leading made-to-measure clothing company in the world.

How does it work?

Customers customize everything online, on Indochino. They can create suits, blazers, overcoats, and chinos by choosing from hundreds of fabrics and countless personalization options.

All the measuring instructions are listed on their website, therefore you don’t need to be a tailor to get the right measure.

However, if you’re not quite certain about it, Indochino has over 50 showrooms across the US, therefore you can customize your clothing in person.

Quality

Both Indochino and Suitsupply make high-quality suits, there’s no doubt about that. Both brands use wool, cotton, polyester, and cashmere among others.

The only thing that sets them apart is WHO weaves the fabrics.

Indochino has offices in China, while Suitsupply decided to cooperate with the famous Reda from Italy. As I mentioned before, Reda is in the fabric weaving business for over a century.

Sustainability

Indochino states that they are a people-driven organization and that the work environment is creative yet structured. However, I wasn’t able to find anything on the website that tells us more about Indochino’s environmental or ethical impact.

On the other hand, Suitsupply proves to be a socially responsible company.

They only cooperate with manufacturers and distributors that fulfill the International Labour Organization’s ethical standards. Those standards mean no forced labor, child labor, or undue overtime.

As I mentioned already, Suitsupply is also a member of the European Fair Wear Foundation.

Speaking of the environmental impact, they limit their carbon footprint by adhering to carbon-neutral production standards.

Price

Even though both companies sell suits at affordable prices there’s a slight difference. Indochino suits are a bit cheaper than Suitsupply, and there is a reasonable explanation.

Suitsupply cooperates with selected manufacturers only. They source the materials all over the world to keep the products as sustainable as possible.

As I said, Indochino doesn’t publish much information about any environmental or ethical efforts so the simplest explanation would be that Suitsupply can justify slightly higher prices due to their ethical and environmental practices.

Shipping and Returns

Both brands offer free shipping, but Suitsupply offers free shipping across Europe and the US while Indochino offers free shipping only across the US.

Speaking of returns, Indochino does NOT offer any refund options on their products. The reason is quite simple – custom-made suits are tailored according to an individual, therefore, you can’t return them but you can alter your suit for up to $100 in one of their showrooms.

Their three-step return process is quite simple. You sign into your Suitsupply account, choose the nearest Suitsupply location, and you put a return label on your package. Of course, the return label fee is covered by Suitsupply.
