Hey Honey Review: Honey-Based Skincare Products Reviewed

If you’ve delved into the skin care abyss for just a brief second, you might already know how difficult it is finding something which will easily fit in your daily routine.

Some skin care regimes, or most of them, are pretty challenging to follow. Not many of us have the time needed to give our full efforts to treat our skin effectively, it’s just pretty time-consuming. So, are there any alternatives which are effective and not so time-consuming?

Well, I can tell you one thing though, Hey Honey sure looks pretty promising. They’re focusing on creating skin care products with clean effective ingredients, that are fast acting, cruelty-free, environmentally friendly, and you guessed it, with honey.

Pretty promising on first glances, but is Hey Honey for you? Let’s talk a bit about it.

All About Hey Honey

Makeup + Skincare Solutions

Basically, Katrina, who is the founder of Hey Honey, made it for one reason and one reason only: A skin care routine that will fit in everyone’s routine. The whole idea is that it is more effective, and therefore not so time-consuming.

But is it though? Well, it depends on what you’re looking for, whether it is an over-night moisturizer, a daily one, or different acne treatments, and so on.

I would say that it isn’t like Hey Honey solves the whole time-consuming element of skin care, but it sure does make it simple. What I mean is, I often times get overwhelmed whenever I’m browsing or shopping for moisturizers or any type of skin care product, while that is not the case with Hey Honey.

It seems like they’re more focused towards quality rather than quantity. Customers can shop by concern, meaning they can pick what type of skin goals they have, and products are listed based on that.

It shows that Hey Honey focuses more about quality rather than quantity, just by looking at the customer reviews.

Ratings Breakdown

In terms of the overall service, there are a couple of elements we can rank and give scores for. Below, you’ll find how Hey Honey performs on multiple fields or variables.

QUALITY

Really impressive. It feels as though the moisturizers are made with excessive focus on effectiveness. Hey Honey outperforms other skin care competitors it has.

VALUE

I mean, this comes down to what your budget is, but in my opinion, Hey Honey has great value. It might be a bit more expensive than I’m used to, but I feel like it is worth the extra for the quality one might be getting.

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

What became immediately apparent is the fact that Hey Honey does emphasize customer service and support. Customers which had a bad experience for one reason or another, noted that customer service was pretty responsive and helpful. Plus, the shopping experience is sublime.

BRAND

It’s highly desirable. Products have exceptional branding and it does feel pretty special. There is no wonder why my Insta feed is littered with Hey Honey pictures.

Should You Get Hey Honey?

I’ll try to be as straight as an arrow. Yup, I think Hey Honey is as good as it is hyped up to be, and the effectiveness of their products is simply impressive. For me, it was answering the simple question: Is it as good as it is advertised to be? Thankfully, I can confidently say now that it is.

However, while their products are truly sublime, maybe they don’t have what you’re looking for. Here’s a list of Hey Honey’s products:

  • Moisturizers and serums;
  • Cleansers;
  • Exfoliators and peels;
  • Color with benefits;
  • Eyes and lips;
  • Masks;
  • Special treatments like acne, aging lines, etc;
  • Body essentials.

There have been similar brands before, which did a little bit of a bait-and-switch. What I mean is, they did start off with impressive products, but as soon as customers started piling up, it was apparent that the products weren’t being made up to the same standard.

Hey Honey is still relatively new, but for now, it does appear to have the one of the best skin care products out there. I’m not saying Hey Honey will bait and switch, but I’m just saying that we can only objectively review Hey Honey at its current state.

Hey Honey Pros & Cons

While Hey Honey offers some of the best moisturizers, serums, and cleansers, there are some positives and negatives which need to be taken into account. Granted, there are far more positives than negatives really.

With that said, let’s get into the pros and cons of Hey Honey:

PROS

  • Products are usually high percentage natural ingredients
  • Critically-acclaimed for their effectiveness
  • A lot of different variations and products to choose from
  • Subscription available
  • Products for all skin types
  • A lot of helpful information on usage, application, how it works, ingredients, and more, for each product

CONS

  • Almost all products have honey as a key ingredient. For some, it might not be the ideal fit

I would just like to elaborate on the only con I’ve found with Hey Honey, which is, funnily enough, the honey.

Look, honey has proven to be great for the skin, and I’m all up for that. But the truth is, that some don’t have the same effects from the honey. Truth is, most of my close friends and family do avoid honey-based moisturizers.

Thankfully, Hey Honey does have options which aren’t made up of honey. Granted, the choices are limited, but all in all, this pales in comparison to all the positives that Hey Honey has really.

Hey Honey’s Best Products

Active Moisturizing Color Correcting Cream With Honey & Propolis

Trick and Treat CC

This is one of their most notable products, and there is no wonder why it is one of their best-sellers. Basically, it can be used to treat dry skin by hydrating and nourishing your skin.

It utilizes a Triple Pigment Technology and provides an all-day coverage. It is tinted, so you’ll be looking flawless during your skin care routine. It is adapted for all skin types, and most customer reviews are very positive.

It blends well, and it allows your skin to breathe very easily. Highly recommended.

Of course, the key ingredients are honey, propolis, and squalene.

Honey & Hyaluronic Acid Rich Moisturizer

Boost It Up!

The goal with the honey and hyaluronic moisturizer is to mitigate any signs of aging, both premature and advanced signs of aging. It stimulates production of elastin and collagen, and it does give a great balance of moisture and nourishment.

It is made for all skin types, and the key ingredients are: honey, hyaluronic acid, and squalene. Made from 99% of natural ingredients.

Most customers noted that you’ll only need one or two pumps, and it’ll have your skin looking and feeling fresh for most of the day.

Honey Silk Facial Serum

Good Morning

I love makeup primers, but this is my go-to. While it isn’t specifically designed to be used as a makeup primer, it does do a pretty good job for that. Furthermore, it has been extensively praised for being really soothing after shaving.

It has a pretty lightweight texture, and for me, it gets easily absorbed by my skin, making it feeling fresh, and being really breathable. Oh, and the fact that I can put it under my makeup is a very nice feature indeed.

It works best for dry or mature skin types, and even though my skin doesn’t belong in any of those two categories, this serum is still really impressive.

The Honey Silk Facial Serum is made up of squalene, honey, and sea buckthorn oil.

Propolis & Honey Soothing Moisturizer

Relax!

Now, if you’re have problematic skin or sensitive skin, Hey Honey Relax is the best moisturizer, hands-down. The bottle is a bit bigger as well coming in at 2.2 oz. or 70ml. This moisturizer is completely oil-free and non-comedogenic.

The key ingredients which are: honey, propolis, and honeysuckle are really gentle with the skin, and do have some strength-increasing abilities.

Honeysuckle is perfect for reducing inflammation, which is the main reason why this moisturizer is so effective. It can be used either day and night, and if you haven’t used moisturizer before, it can be a good fit for you, since it is mainly water-based.

Hey Honey’s Ingredients: Honey & Propolis

You might see a recurring theme at Hey Honey. That is, the key ingredients are usually the same across multiple products, with only minor differences. The main two ingredients that Hey Honey uses most are, of course, honey, and propolis.

Basically, both of them have been used in the skin care industry for years now, and they’ve been really effective at healing, reducing inflammation, moisturizing, and reducing skin aging.

Honey

Honey is one of the best healers for wounds, coughs, sore throats, eye diseases, and effectively inflamed skin. There is no need to explain further, but even though it isn’t the absolute best for skin care, it can be pretty effective when combined with other ingredients.

Propolis

Propolis has more healing-like properties if I’m honest. It has more potential to nurture and moisturize the skin, and it does do really well when it is combined with honey, which effectively Hey Honey does for most of their products.

Hey Honey is praise-worthy because they manage to preserve a whopping 95% of propolis’s natural properties.

Simply put, the formula that Hey Honey has is pretty effective, and these two ingredients are the prime winners.

The Verdict: Should You Make The Commitment With Hey Honey?

Absolutely. At the moment, it truly feels like that Hey Honey has some of the best products for different categories. What I like most is the fact that Hey Honey exercises overly-positive reviews, which are mainly mentioning the effectiveness of their serums, moisturizers, exfoliators, masks, and everything else.

The point I’m trying to make is, that it isn’t like Hey Honey focuses on their branding while the quality of the actual product is low. No, with Hey Honey, it is the other way around.

Even if you have dry, sensitive, aged, problematic, inflamed skin, there are products for each and every one of those categories here. Sure, it might cost a little bit more compared to Hey Honey’s competitors, but considering the effectiveness of the products, it has great value, and definitely worth the extra.
