About ECCO
ECCO was founded in 1963 by Birte and Karl Toosbuy, in Bredebro, Denmark. Karl was a trained shoemaker and he dreamed of owning a shoe company and running his own business. That’s why he decided to take a risk, sell his home, quit his job, and move to Bredebro, in southwest Denmark. In 1963 his dream became a reality.
