Byte vs Candid vs Invisalign: Best Invisible Teeth Aligners

It is shocking at which pace the orthodontic industry changes. Gone are the days where full head masks, and heavy metal braces were used. Sure, there are still metal braces, as they’re effective at straightening teeth, but they’re much more efficient, lighter, and better-looking nowadays. Still, that only scratches the surface about what is possible, and what methods exist for straightening teeth.

If you have been on social media even a while, you might have heard the term ‘invisible aligners’. Huh? What kind of sorcery is this?

Well, apparently it is quite a big trend in this industry. Companies like Byte, Candid, and Invisalign are all forward-thinking in their methods of straightening teeth, as they use these types of aligners.

Back in the day, there wasn’t much of a choice. It was either Invisalign, or classic braces. However, as Invisalign grew exponentially in popularity, so did other brands offering invisible aligners as well. It is safe to say that there is a handful of brands to choose from, particularly these three, as the most well-renowned ones on the market.

So, which one should you pick? Read on to see which is the perfect ‘fit’ for you, pun intended, from Byte, Candid, and Invisalign!

Why Invisible Aligners At All? Byte, Candid & Invisalign

Byte Teeth Aligners

Most people that have worn the classic metal braces, even for a day, can give you an answer right of the bat. However, not all can or need to use invisible aligners. Let me explain.

Sometimes classic metal braces are needed, and there is no getting around it. Invisible aligners for people that need a lot of adjustment don’t work. Thankfully, with all three, you can send a scan and each brand will determine whether you are eligible for invisible aligners or need metal braces. While you have that option with all three invisible aligner brands, I would even go a step further, to suggest scheduling a consultation with your local orthodontist to determine what you need.

They’re very effective though. The whole reason why invisible aligners make sense is because: No metal in your teeth (of course), they go unnoticed, convenience, just to name a few. Not to mention the financial aspect, which for some might be the biggest reason.

On average, people save more than two to three thousand US dollars with invisible aligners, as appose to the classic metal braces.

How Does Invisible Aligners Work?

You can’t just buy the invisible adjustors online, and expect them to be optimally efficient for your teeth and adjustments you need, right? Correct.

That is why these three companies, Byte, Candid, and Invisalign, adopt an interesting model to get peoples’ teeth in a perfect place. Minor details vary, but mostly, all three brands have the same model. So, what is this model?

Well, in all three there are orthodontists at hand, which determine whether you need metal braces, whether the invisible ones will be a good fit for you, or whether you need braces at all. Simply, all you need is a scan, which can be done with some gadgets that some of them offer, or with pictures, while also with consultations, either in-person or remotely.

Once it has been determined that you will benefit from having these types of aligners, either Byte, or Candid, or Invisalign will create molds (aligners) and send them to you, with instructions on how long to wear each mold.

The aligners will be sent all at once, or individually, depending on the brand, and your adjustment needs.

So, it is safe to say that this process is quite streamlined and thorough, and not as vague as many people think it is. With all that said, let’s address the elephant in the room.

Byte, Candid & Invisalign VS Metal Braces

It wouldn’t be a proper discussion about invisible aligners if this question didn’t pop up in the conversation. This is the most talked about comparison in the orthodontic industry, there is no shaking it off…

So, what’s the answer to the age-old question: Are invisible aligners better than metal braces?

The answer is not that straightforward though, and bear with me, the reason why, is, fundamentally, because it is different. That’s it.

There is just, people that need metal braces, and people that don’t need metal braces, but need small fixes on their teeth. So, it is a question of severity. The more badly-positioned your teeth are, the more you lean for a need for classic metal braces. Why? Because metal braces have a much higher capacity of fixing highly dysfunctional teeth.

Whereas invisible aligners are near-perfect for those that don’t need lots of adjustment. That is not to say that they aren’t efficient, but, not as efficient as the classic option. However, why would someone chuck metal when their teeth can be easily fixed by invisible aligners?

Well, there is a shift in the industry, and more and more people opt-in for options like Byte, Candid, and Invisalign. With all that philosophy taken care of, let’s dive deeper in what makes each of these brands tick.

Comparison Between Byte, Candid & Invisalign

From all that we have mentioned thus far, most will get the picture that all three are clones of each other. While they might overlap in some crucial aspects, this is not nearly the full story.

The most difference people will see about Byte, Candid, and Invisalign, is cost and time. Most of the time, that is pretty much it. They’re all different in the treatment plan, as all three have different time needed to complete the treatment. And, not to mention costs.

We will go into more details about why might the prices be so much higher for Invisalign, later.

So, what are some of the most distinctive things you should be looking for in your aligners’ provider, and which is the perfect fit for you? Find out in a Byte VS Candid VS Invisalign comparison below:

Byte and Candid are very impressive. For one, their treatment plans are much shorter than Invisalign, with Byte going all-out with only a three-month treatment plan. Sounds too good to be true? We will have to see, but it seems like they introduced a new vibration tool, which let’s the teeth fall into place much faster than they usually would. Pretty exciting stuff.

When talking about the financial aspect though, it is hard not to mention Invisalign. Another elephant in the room. No other way to say this, but, Invisalign is 100% higher or even twice from that in terms of pricing, compared to the other two. You could say, it is the luxury option from the three.

Like we mentioned earlier, most differences are the prices and the treatment time. Plus, some requirements that individual brands have placed.

Byte Review

Byte – Impression Kit

Byte is the youngest, getting into the game only a short while ago, their results have been nothing short of miraculous. Maybe this is the best time to get with Byte, as at the moment, they’re exponentially growing.

From all three, Byte is the only one that has no offices. So, the way it works is simple. No need to go to the office for a scan, instead, customers can get an impression kit, with which they can model their teeth. Then, a whole 3D model is made by orthodontists for your specific teeth.

After the impression kit and the 3D model, a treatment plan is made, and specific teeth aligners are made and sent to your door.

No this and that, no waiting in the orthodontist’s office reading magazines and listening to electronic music.

You can get Byte impression kit way cheaper by using code: ’04BYTE100′ here.

Their whole approach is a tad bit different to the other two, using vibrations, something which has known to be effective for teeth, but not streamlined yet. Like any other brand, there are pros and cons to using Byte:

PROS

  • Forward-thinking approach to fixing teeth
  • Cheapest out of the three
  • No need for an in-person consultation
  • Fast and effective

CONS

  • No possibility for a scan, as there are no offices
  • Treatment plan very short, but effective considering the time-frame

Candid Review

Candid: Starter Kit

Candid is up-front and simple. Possibly the best option out there if your main goal is to get your smile from a solid five, to a pretty strong ten. Nonetheless, the point is, it is not for those that need braces, or have severe teeth alignment issues.

Instead, get your smile close to the ones you see on the front of magazines.

The process is like Byte’s. You can get an impression kit to model your teeth, or go to one of the Candid office locations for a scan, something which isn’t a possibility with Byte. After doing one of the two, a model gets created from your teeth, and you review it with the orthodontist, adjusting goals, expectations, and wishes.

Then, you can review a model of how your teeth might look like if they were perfect, just like you wanted them to be.

After being satisfied with your goals, the aligners get shipped to your door. Contrary to the other options out there, Candid is one of the only ones that ships all aligners at once.

This wouldn’t be much of a review if we didn’t include the pros and cons of Candid, which are:

PROS

  • There is an option to do a scan at one of the office locations
  • Great for making the perfect smile
  • Similarly priced to Byte
  • Aligners ship all at once

CONS

  • Only moderate cases for teeth adjustment
  • There is no free first set

Invisalign Review

InvisAlign: Aligners

Now, let’s get one thing straight, Invisalign is a name which strikes fear into the hearts of the other two competitors. While I might be known for taking things too far, and even though that was a slight exaggeration, the point is that Invisalign is the original when it comes to invisible aligners. It is the Coca-Cola of invisible aligners, if you will.

What makes Invisalign better than Byte or Candid is the fact that with Invisalign, people with slightly more severe adjustment needs can do so, while that is not the case with the other two.

That is not to say that Byte or Candid are less efficient, or that Invisalign is better in every way, on the contrary, the other two can be perfect for those that don’t need a lot of adjusting.

The first visit is mandatory with Invisalign. Once an orthodontist confirms that Invisalign will be a good fit for you, the treatment plan gets made. After which you get multiple sets of aligners, wearing each for a few weeks.

Additional in-office examinations will be required even after getting your aligners, so that Invisalign can track your progress, and make the necessary changes to your treatment plan, if necessary.

Emphasis is put on in-office visits are they tend to be much more ‘rewarding’ in terms of progress tracking, and treatment plan tweaks. In the end, that is why Invisalign can deal with a much more severe adjustment needs for your teeth.

With clearing that up, what are the pros and cons with Invisalign? The ones that you might already expect:

PROS

  • Can deal with more acute cases
  • More effort put on getting the treatment plan spot on
  • Some things are streamlined efficiently
  • Actual in-person checkups
  • Better results

CONS

  • Very expensive
  • Mandatory check-ups

Head-to-Head Comparison

Yes, I know, it is a lot to take in. If you’re like me, you might want to explore your options a bit further. But how can we use the current information that is on the table to look deeper about these invisible aligners? I know, let’s put them head-to-head.

Each matchup will be covered below, and this is purely to see how well each will fare against each other.

Byte or Candid? What To Choose?

Byte: Zero risk guarantee

We already went through how Invisalign is way different to both Byte and Candid. Yes, prices vary a lot, and the treatment times might be longer with Invisalign, but there is much more uniqueness, and personalization, since in-person visits are mandatory.

Necessary tweaks to the treatment plans are always made, and while that might be done remotely with Byte, it is much different when the consultation is in-person.

The price difference is mostly because of the focus and emphasis that is put on in-person visits, and generally more attention than the other two- speaking for Invisalign.

However, if you don’t have a severe case of badly positioned teeth, Byte might be just fine for you. Cheaper, more convenient, and all-round less time-consuming. Plus, the night option might be a deal-maker for some here.

So, this decision should be made depending on how acute your teeth issue is.

How About Candid & Invisalign?

Candid Monitoring

There is not much to say here as well. The same as before, the differences are the usual ones which you might expect, and the usual deal-breakers.

Invisalign is for more serious teeth issues, while Candid mostly focuses on giving people the perfect smile. If you’re case isn’t at all severe, why spend the extra few bucks. Even though they’re not a few bucks, but much more, you get the idea.

Candid also has quite a few office locations, so if you’re in need of a check-up, there is the possibility to do so with Candid. Something which Byte lacked.

For this matchup, one could do a check-up to see whether they need something like Invisalign, which prides itself on solving more severe issues, or Candid, to get the perfect 10 out of 10 smile.

The Verdict: Best Invisible Teeth Aligners – Byte VS Candid VS Invisalign

Anyone who has worn classic metal braces will jump on to tell you to go with alternatives such as invisible teeth aligners. And while they do make a lot of sense, they’re not for everyone. Some need braces, and that’s it. However, for those that don’t need braces, invisible teeth aligners remain to be one of the best alternatives available.

Honestly, all three of these invisible teeth aligners shocked me. Many, like me, thought these were only a gimmick, and too good to be true. Now, my perspective is changed, and it is thanks to forward-thinkers like Byte, Candid, and Invisalign.

Which is the best? Well, the better question is: Which is for you?

Well, from all that was outlined above, Invisalign might be a good option for more severe cases. Although one big flaw is the price, which is subsequently bigger than that of Candid or Byte. Plus, since check-ups and visits to a Invisalign orthodontist are obligatory, customers must live near an Invisalign office or travel to one each time they need a check-up, which might add to the initial cost of the package.

As for Byte, with the new vibration technology, they might become slightly more effective for acute cases as well. Additionally, the treatment speed for Byte cannot be glossed over. Overall a great package, with some newand revolutionary orthodontic practices.

Candid is for those that love convenience. It is the most convenient one in the list, and don’t need results fast, but want slow, but long-lasting changes. Plus, the option for in-person visits is there, whereas Byte doesn’t have any office locations.

However, what Byte has is speed. Looking to get the fastest teeth-alignment treatment possible? Look no further. Even if the speed wasn’t a big factor with Byte, it will still be considered as a top-notch contender to the other two.
