In a recent poll, it was found that one of three U.S. citizens would prefer sustainable clothing over traditional apparel. But the majority did however, vote that they would steer clear of sustainable and ‘natural’ clothing.
In all honesty, not many of us care as much for sustainability compared to quality. And I think that’s the way it should be especially when it comes at a cost of low durability and quality, after all, I’m one of that group myself. But something changed when I came across Boody.
It’s seems as though sustainable, plus, high-quality and durable clothing is a thing after all. Made from bamboo and eucalyptus, this clothing brand is as good as it gets when it comes to eco-friendly clothing.
But is all the hype justified, and could you expect decent clothing if you’re ready to make the commitment to go with Boody? These are questions we will answer below, and put Boody under the microscope, to see, once and for all, if you should consider this route.

What Is Boody & Does It Make Sense?
Boody is an eco-friendly clothing brand, that focuses primarily on manufacturing clothes, which don’t damage our wonderful world. Pretty neat.
But the most common question people have, is whether all this eco-friendly talk comes at the cost of quality and comfort? Well, it seems like it doesn’t.
What Boody does really well, which is something I, and I’m guessing many others respect is the fact that they put a lot of emphasis on comfort and quality as well. So, it’s not only the sustainability blabber you hear about brands daily, with no quality to back it up.
In fact, from what we’ve gathered, Boody is very serious about comfort and breathability. Hundreds upon hundreds of positive reviews and testimonials, and almost all of them mentioned those two things.
What Does Boody Wear Offer?
Well, generally, Boody offers clothing made from bamboo, and other things such as cotton, spandex, nylon, and more. Bamboo is used to create viscose, which is later used as the primary fabric in their clothing lineup.
Compared to other competitors, Boody has a pretty impressive lineup of clothing. They have apparel for men, women, and babies. Here are some things you might find at Boody:
- Body suits
- Accessories and so much more.
It is safe to say that you can find almost anything at Boody.
One thing which many love about Boody is the fact that they disclose how positive an impact, a clothing item has. Take the Padded Shaper Bra, it has 434 hours of LED bulb energy saved, 272 liters of drinking water, 1.3 m2 of land farmed without pesticides, and 2.6 km of carbon emissions avoided. And, they do that with any clothing item available on their official store.
Boody has multiple certifications for sustainability like ECOCERT, FCS, PETA Vegan Approved, and OEKO-TEX. This brand also regularly meets quality and environmental management requirements like ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
Now, I know that all that sounds like gibberish, but the whole point is, Boody takes sustainability seriously. But how does Boody compare against some of its main competitors?

Shaper Bra Review
This is their signature bra, and it is their best-selling product (see here).
Mainly because they’ve managed to remove everything that most hate about bras. Things like straps that are digging in, unconventional fastenings, and of course, the wires.
It’s comfortable it is easy to slip on, and it is one of the most breathable bras out there. In addition to that, it seems as though many mothers or expecting mothers adore it. This is mainly due to the fact of how easy it is to wear, and the fact that the things we all hate about bras are removed.
The shaper bra comes in nine color options:
- Light Grey Marl;
- Dark Olive;
- Nude 2;
- Nude 4;
- Nude 6.
Also, it comes in at five sizes, accommodating to all body types: XS, S, M, L, and XL. Boody has a size guide for everyone, so you do not need to worry on whether the size chose will fit your correctly or not. On a side note, you can get the Shaper Bra in a one or a two-pack.
The Shaper Bra starts at $16.95.
Classic Bikini Review
This is not actually a bikini, but underwear. But all things considered, it is quite an accomplishment.
What Boody have managed to do with the Classic Bikini is create underwear, which is appropriate for every occasion. It is practical underwear, for any time of the day. Boody themselves acknowledge that most people don’t have the time to go in and out of underwear for special occasions.
Their solution? The Classic Bikini.
Again, continuing with the trend, you can expect the Classic Bikini to be one of the most comfortable underwear you’ve tried, and that’s an understatement. 80% is made from viscose, from their organic signature bamboo, and 13% nylon with 7% spandex.
It is certified by OEKO-TEX. Sizes available are:
Don’t expect any sagging with this model, or any kind of rolling or creeping. On top of that, if you’ve already tried it and you adore it, like most do, there is an option to buy a 4-pack of the Classic Bikini.
The Classic Bikini starts at $11.95.
Cami Top Review
But what if you want a top that will be fitting for most occasions. Well, Boody offers a Cami top, and it has been widely praised for nailing how a Cami top should look and feel like.
In addition, I’m getting pretty tired of mentioning how comfortable and breathable some products are from Boody, but it is as good as it sounds. So, that continues with the Cami top, as well as their other tops like the V-Neck, Tank top, Scoop top, Long-Sleeve top, and others.
Only downside with the Cami top though, is the fact that it can be too long for your taste. If you’re used to shorter tops, then there are alternatives at Boody. Sizes range from XS all the way to XL. But most have reported that the Cami top is forgiving for size.
It comes in a single or a two-pack. And lastly, this puppy starts at $19.95, which is very affordable, considering what you’re getting.
The Verdict: Boody Wear – Is It Worth It?
Without a shadow of a doubt, yes, and here’s why.
Before all ‘clothing should be sustainable’ movement, there were quite a few sustainable clothing options out there. But most of the time, the ‘sustainable’ word was used to compensate for the lack of quality, practicality, comfort, and breathability.
After all, it is sustainable, so why should the poor-quality bother consumers, they’re doing the right thing right? Wrong.
There is no excuse for poorly made “sustainable” clothes. But thankfully, Boody is a whole other beast.
By far, the most high-quality and high comfort clothing essentials we’ve seen are from Boody. With that said, sustainability isn’t the first keyword that should pop to mind when you think of Boody. It is a secondary strong suit, after quality and comfort. Great job, Boody.
